LiamGTR
New plates arrived today, they look alot better in the flesh than the pics, it was too bright for my crappy digi cam:http://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/LiamPearson/Escort/Random%20Pics/IMAG0021.jpghttp://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/LiamPearson/Escort/Random%20Pics/IMAG0022.jpghttp://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/LiamPearson/Escort/Random%20Pics/IMAG0023.jpghttp://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/LiamPearson/Escort/Random%20Pics/IMAG0024-1.jpghttp://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/LiamPearson/Escort/Random%20Pics/IMAG0025-1.jpghttp://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/LiamPearson/Escort/Random%20Pics/IMAG0026-1.jpghttp://i611.photobucket.com/albums/tt199/LiamPearson/Escort/Random%20Pics/IMAG0027-1.jpg I tried to show the GB logo is a domed gel aswell. KNITERIDER
looks alot better, prob isnt legal, what id do is print off his advert and keep it in your glove box, it might just get you out of it with a bit of bum licking if this is the case i like the domed writing tho its certainly different! you need a towing eye cover! LiamGTR
Thats the ONE thing i've never actually been bothered about, a tow eye cover, I complained to the guy when I bought my front bumper but never really bothered, plus no one has a autumn green one for sale, and we all know how rubbish I am at painting! But yea, the plates are definitely an improvement, but keeping the short plates for future car I like short better than domed but not having short on the Escort, looks crap I agree. P.S. Can you "Save" a webpage, incase he changes it anytime soon? Look here:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT Even in the title, it clearly says UK LEGAL. scottg17
I cant see a problem with legal side, the law does not stipulate that the plate must be made of plastic and the letters must not protrude from teh plate, so long as it conforms to the regulations currently in place ie letters, spacing and the eurobadge ECT, i cant see you having any issues

It's that M in L19 MTP, it doesn't look like a legal M at all it looks far too thick, i've PM'd the shop on eBay but not keeping hope for a responce. Lee R
if an Ebay ad said speeding is legal, it wouldn't make it legal, nor would you be able to use it as a defence. Not a fan of them domed plates Liam, soz , prefered the short ones.
duffa
i'm sure if they dont have the british standard stamp/mark on ..they will be illegal i'm sure if they dont have the british standard stamp/mark on ..they will be illegal just found this ... so me thinks you should be fine >>>> What's the British Standard for number plates? The British Standard sets out the physical characteristics of the number plate. This includes visibility, strength and reflectivity. The British Standard also requires each number plate to be permanently and legibly marked with the following information: * The British Standard number (currently BS AU 145d) * The name, trademark or other means of identification of the manufacturer or component supplier (The company that made the plate) * Name and postcode of the supplying outlet. only thing i can see missing is name of manufacturer etc

Not a fan of them domed plates Liam, soz , prefered the short ones.Aye, I like the short ones too, but they look crap on an Escort only thing i can see missing is name of manufacturer etcThat is on there, aswell as the BS number, just had them checked over by a CSO (awaiting to see a traffic office) youll be fine Might not be the case, I popped into the Police Station on the way home and spoke to a CSO as all the traffic cops are looking for that crazy guy, she said personally the M could be mistaken for a H, which is obviously illegal, and phoned a officer else where and he said the same, and mentioned that I probably wouldn't get points or a fine and just handed a producer to get new plates, which I would just stick the short ones on as she checked them. She gave me a number to ring and book an appointment with a proper traffic cop, which i'm going to do, and if he says they're illegal she says he WILL give me some written proof for me to take to this guy on eBay, as i'll definitely be wanting my money back.
