ScORTED
cant believe how many pages this has gone too since i changed name of my thread from 'my escort ghia x' to 'project overspend' i dont think it's the over spend bit thats got people looking fella, it's the silly bit that says 3K has ben spent that gets people looking and expecting to se a half decent escort, thats why I opened the link. disapointed though I was. Lol, ditto all that. add a third to that, not to get bitchy but my projects had a touch more than 3k at it and sh!t loads to actually show for the money spent and even i haven't had this much interest, positive or negative

MIKE W
oh and you can get P plate GTI's, just very rare. No you cant, the one's you are referring to are not proper GTi's as everyone is familar with. Ford just stuck a GTi badge on a couple of random Escorts, pretty much like you have done, this does not make a GTi. I suppose if you are trying to replicate one of these 'P plate GTi's' which came with no bodykit etc and looked just like every other Escort then you have done a pretty good job....But still it isnt one unfortunately. Removing the badge would improve the car alot .....
minirotty
Didn't mean to start a ruck or make you look a c*nt, you seem young and I think you'll learn a lot from this car (I hope). It maybe wise to change the tital of your thread to get rid of the attention you are creating for yourself, there are many worse cars on this site that get lots of support of the members here so I don't believe people are going out there way to abuse you, it's just you seem to be asking for it atm. Start a new thread? take on board peoples feedback? don't mention money? Good luck. Edited February 17, 2010 by minirotty

Removing the badge would improve the car alot .....there were genuine P plate GTI's that came with body kit, alloys, half leathers, right engine etc. there was someone selling a p plate 3 door GTI (same colour as mine) a few months back -forgot who though. the GTi was launched in 97 which covers p and r plates if it will stop people complaining i will remove the badge aslong as everyone else who has a non GTI model does too. and people stop building GTI reps out of 1.4's and 1.6's as they arent GTI's either. i dont make those comments on peoples threads because i see no point in putting people down but we have spent the last 3 pages insulting my car and mainly 3 little letters on the boot lid. please have some more contructive comments as you will be eating your words when i have done my fitting. i might point out the reason that things havent been fitted is that i work full time, have to do jobs round the house on my days off and evenings and take my grandparents shopping who live in illford (over 70 miles each way) which uses up whole day each time and see them once a fortnight. i work very hard for what i have. i do not have the free time everyone else has or the money to get all the parts in one go, so have to spread out the buying. i've been collecting parts for the car since may. the purpose of listing the parts i have is too show where the money has been spent and if after i fit all the parts and you dont like it, i dont care. my car - my choice. its called PERSONALISING a car, not do what every other person has done to theirs. if anyone suggests half tints, i think they look crap, anyone suggests standard lights, they look crap on a dark car with black angel eyes. my car, my choices. you dont have to read the thread if you dont like the car

MIKE W
'Long read' But the point still is, yours isnt a GTi anyway. You posted and asked for opinions, to which i gave. If you did not want them then i apologise and am abit confused as to why you asked for them. I haven't put you down, i just offered my opinions like you asked for? As for the rest of your post im assuming that wasnt aimed at me? As it has no relation to any comments i made.... oh and you can get P plate GTI's, just very rare.
