I remember doing the blue grill neon back in 99 with my first focus..... was ok........ till roughly a month later every punto/corsa/brava boynobbaracer was slapping them in there grills then it instantly became tacky and more or less the "chav" approach to modifying.

shame really, neons done right can really highlight a cars good looks......just not the done thing anymore since you see some bog standard rusty corsa comfort chav go by with brilliant pink underbody neons.

i'm partly hoping to re-invent the look, but mainly just having fun with it. Not going for any specific look on my car, kinda blending them. bit of OEM+ and bit of watching the fast and the furious 1&2 too much :P

spoiler needed methinks, nice car other than blue lights

have a spoiler - just needs painting and the blue lights are just a bit of fun. those 2 neons just happened to be left over as i bought 6 as it was cheaper than 2 lots of 2. 2 are in front footwells (just need wiring up) and 2 are in the boot under the trims on either side as well as an old one i had attached to bottom of the amp

Nice motor, nice to see someone so local here too, ill have to keep an eye out for you:thumb:

I'm in warfield but usually going round great hollands and easthampstead. Nice to know i'm not the only one in bracknell with taste :D

just as a bit of an update, thanks to Lordjc I will be adding GTI steering wheel in next couple of days and some panther black rubbing strips. currently waiting to see how they look on the car as I will either re-spray the original ones as the paint was peeling and faded or i will add to it by doing the skirts, spats and spoiler in black too. Just to be different :)

any opinions would be appreciated

speaks for itself

GTI spoiler - sanded down ready to be primed, i think it might have been red, then re-sprayed silver as silver was peeling off round the fixing points - this is for sale now as i have MG one

RS2000 front callipers - just need re-painting properly and will be getting uprated discs and pads - not sure which ones yet

http://i0.tagstat.com/image03/8/520f/0013001O58f.jpg

RS2000 rear brakes - need re-painting and cleaning up

4" tip scorion exhaust

Both sections of cat back exhaust, skirts, rear brakes and just out of shot is box containg ported and polished head and 130 cams

Also as a laugh, my method of fixing my sub enclosure in place till i can be bothered to either fix it properly or build a proper enclosure (more likely 2nd) but CD changer will be moved to under passenger seat (on left of enclsure - can be seen in first boot photo)

went down the breakers today to look at wheels for my mum and get a piece of trim for mine and i spotted the badge off the bottom of the front doors off a rover 75. says 1.8 litre and is a nice chrome plastic oval. i've stuck this on the boot below my rear number plate and think it looks good. will include pic soon

nice update mate don't do the neons though but its up to you :) ive got interior led lighting in the footwells! nice wheel ive just fitted the full leather one with out the dimples bit , think its off the Si?

Think the dimples one is nicer myself. gonna fit it when i get the dials - ghia clock turned up this morning. while i was out i spent bout £180 on my car :D bought all service stuff, castrol magnatex oil (£29.99 for 4 litres - sump is 4.6 :nutter: )

doing the neons just for fun really. To me the point of personalising a car is to do just that - personalize it. I know neons aren't the done thing now-a-days but i think their fun.

My sadness for colour coding means i've also colour coded front scuttle and bought new wing mirrors so i can paint the base plate aswell :D

I should not be allowed loose with money :D

got some genuine ford floormats delivered today. Only ordered them yesterday morning.

Decided that the way i want the car to look is ghia on the inside and gti outside and more so under the bonnet. Trying to decide if i should do a 2.0 swap or turbo my 1.8. Its a good strong engine so know it will go well. Decided i'm sticking with 15's, may go to 16's at a later stage when i might upgrade brakes further. Saving up for coilovers next
