get that spoiler on bay!

you mean the one i got off you? i got a bit of work to do on that first. not to be harsh but my dad described the painting of it as that of a 4 year old :D got to get all the black off, the original silver that you can see underneath in places, and filler primer the deeper scratches on the top (dad says rushed sanding with coarse paper)

plan is to get that all painted up and ready to go on in march, along with my GTI skirts and spats, re-paint my RS2000 callipers blue, front and rear, fit mondeo centre, clean up cat back system, clean up new head, prepare everything else all by march 8th :D

few late nights ahead of me

also anyone recomend a good cat 1 alarm system and fitter to do my car for a reasonable price? dont wanna do all this work then someone nick the car :P

also going to be fitting a useful gadget at some stage in near future - CCTV :P that way if anyone thinks my wheels will look beter in black again i will see who it was and spray paint their face black :P

in reply to lee_2f2f, the badges are actually from halfords, 3 for £5, so cost me £20 :nutter: but does look good.

got the tyres off the 16's today so refurbing will start at some stage, but not rushing as i cant actually afford the tyres atm :D getting 195/45/16 toyos as recomended by guy in tyre shop who used to have an escort GTI with 16's and he tried 3 different profiles and found them the best, so gong with that (he's got a Focus RS now - so jealous).

also tried lacquering my tail lights today only to find one cracked, and long story short needed to re-tint them and after masses of prep work the tint refuses to stick so they are now rubbish. on the look out now for the black lexus lights that actually look nice (like richie-si has). anyone know of any cheap?

I have the same size tyres on mine, 195/45/16. I got Toyo T1R's from camskill for 45 quid each.

mine are 57.89 each fitted :(

Not too bad? I paid 45 each then a further 20 quid to fit the 2 to the front. So cost me about 110 quid fitted for 2! :)

total came to £231.35, which includes fitting, balancing, valves and disposal of my old tyres, as they were nice enough to take them off :)

got this fitted now:

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/danposs86/mk6/DSCF2911.jpg

had to modify the airbox as i needed to get the induction pipe from the K&N i had on there to reach it and as mine has aircon there was some pipe work and bits in the way, so spent good hour and a half cutting, filing, measuring, cutting etc.

got it all in then my very strange car decided to completely lose all electrical power, as if i had disconnected the battery.

then after 5 mins, it worked. drove the car to the end of my road, and as engine was cold, did its silly stalling thing, then all electrics went again. pushed the car back to my drive, then all the lights came back on, and i could re-start it. took it for quick drive (new induction kit sounds awesome) and all was fine. got back home, parked and turned engine off and on few times with no problem.

as i say - strange car. i will be postingthis in electrical queries too if anyone has any ideas.

i will do a pic of it in my car after i have taken it out again and painted it or polished it in march (suggestions?)

also i took off the fast ford sticker off (left the escort evolution one though :P - just cant see it as its silver)

Has it only just started losing power? You havent shorted something out with that chunk of metal have you?

don't worry, worked it out - battery terminals were loose :nutter:

did the dyno run today, one word - WOW:

scans a bit crap, but you should be able to make out peak power of 126.9bhp. only performance mod is dans pipercross :)

on results of this i have decided to not bother with the ported and polished head, cams & throttle body i have in garage. see for sale for prices :)

Get some pics up of it fitted ;)

will do once i change the rocker cover to my newly painted one, polish the plug cover and clean engine bay a bit (lot ofroad grime in there now). that should be tomorrow all going well :D

well my idea of not doing updates till after i do more work in march has gone out the window, so show you pics from today:

my newly painted rocker cover using hammerite 'hammered' black. looks better in the flesh. same colour as i painted the battery cover below:

this is dans old pipercross now fitted to my car. trying to decide what colour to paint the airbox. silver to match exhaust heat sheild, black to match rocker cover and battery cover, or hammerite smooth blue to match the strut brace i will be fitting (once i paint it) - suggestions on colour?

changed my clock back to a ghia one - actually works!!

bit more updating. had another go at tinting my lights, this time the f***ing cat in the rafters of the garage knocked dust and fur on them and its dried in. have another set of lights i will do the same to and will mix and match to get the best ones.

also changed my rear speakers to my old alpine 5x7's that i got for my old corolla as these are 200W max (opposed to sony's 180W) and 35W RMS (opposed to sony's 30W).

also as they are2 way opposed to 3 way they do not try and do the lows which the subs are for so my audio is alot clearer. only draw back is it ruins my claim for complete sony stereo :(

have also bought some mk5a genuine RS accessory skirts in lieu of my GTI skirts as i cant really be bothered with repairing them.

have also designed a dash adaptor for fitting my mondeo centre console and come up with different idea for window and boot buttons. should be assembled by this time next month. hopefully it will look as good in reality as it does in my head but i will be working with one of strong point materials - wood :P

also hope to build a boot install at some point soon and carpet it with some off cuts from carpet right or get some black leather out of a car in breakers yard. leather is currently my wining vote as easier to clean :P

will start painting RS2000 callipers tomorrow as i need them done soon as i've kinda cooked my brakes and warped the discs so not braking straight now.

teach me to drive at 'ahem' miles an hour - quoted top speed for my car is 124mph. sat nav said i hit 136mph - of course not on public roads  that would be silly :D
