Me too, but I don't think it's gonna happen, I bidded for some actual in 16" and then they were removed from EBay after someone made a cash offer.

Hopefully ill have a problem free month somewhere so can get round to it again. Dang nammit!

With regards to your "steering wheel" wobble whilst braking, I would be looking towards the bottom arms you fitted recently?

Having this problem with my GTi. Steering wheel was wobbling whilst braking so I fitted new bottom arms (motor factors), cured the problem and steering did not wobble anymore, until about 3 weeks later, so thinking the bushes have give up already

Initially I thought it was warped discs, but found it hard to beleive as they were only fitted brand new a few weeks earlier when I did the ST/mondeo brake upgrade....I checked the discs on a flat surface (granite surface table at work) and using feeler gauges, and the discs were dead flat....

Bottoms arms are all good still, checked everything, looks like it is my off side disc, dunno how ive done it but ran out of time to sort that in the end.

So as far as an update the tank was dropped with 20litres in it much to the surprise of my mate lol

Fitted the MK5 fiesta fuel pump which SHOULD fix my weird fuel gauge readings ive been having since sticking digi dials in, literally no one I can find has had the same weird issue ive had. My dials and sender are from the same model car now so hopefully its sorted, will wait and see and it took a while last time I fitted a different pump/sender for stuff to figure its self out.

It gave me the opportunity to re-seal the pump fixing with a new gasket and sealant as the old one stank, seemed to leak fumes from what I could tell and throw up the occasional cut out, this one has been spot on so far.

As mentioned after having an appalling cold start idle and a somewhat worsened idle after warm up I blamed my pattern ICV, didnt even consider looking at the lambda considering the symptoms, lambda shouldnt effect cold start and after actually checking the sensor it was clear that is was damaged. Before we did however we changed the ICV for a genuine one I picked up so after that failed to the solve the problem we found the lambda in the way it was. My bad, changed lambda and engine fired up like it should, the last one was sooty as you like too.

Now the most frustrating thing now is that the ICV I fitted is poor even though it is gen, I will be fitting the pattern one back in again next weekend.

Did an oil change for Mobile Formula 1 to see if expensive oil does anything but I havent noticed a significant difference but for the usual change you get when you change your oil.

Not much of an update and no decent pictures but im not sure whats left to do, tempted to buy a couple of the rebuilt 2.0's on here but keep getting delayed.

I had a feeling that was winding you up, to be honest me too, the underside of the car is all pretty nice bar that orange section. Got side tracked by blackening my splitter.

Fitted my old ICV back in today, when I say old I mean the pattern part I blamed for the problem that was actually the lambda sensor...confused?

Anyway, car idles perfect again now, not happy I wasted money on a genuine Ford second hand ICV to find that it wasnt working barely at all.

It was taken off a car that it has been on for 2000 miles and it was brand new, the car had been sitting maybe 3 weeks tops before it was removed and it came to fitting in my car and it just wasnt working, definitly a duff part proved today by fitting my old one back in and my idle working correctly. Doesnt make sense, I trust the seller too so I dont know wtf could have happened.

Oh and all those people who have been following my fuel gauge issues (that'll be just Tomsy then :) ), it is finally fixed, I now have a correctly working fuel gauge, that and my idle were my longest running issues finally fixed. A MK5 Fiesta fuel pump fixed it!, the later 1998 Escort fuel pump and sender only worked when the tank was half empty which would suddently read full on the gauge, then when the tank was empty the gauge would read half empty, so a MK5 Fiesta fuel pump to go with my MK5 digi dials conversion is what fixed it.

Next up, new front brake discs and pads, then hopefully get round to ridding the cossie rims.

glad its all fixed mate.

would have thought a mk5 fiesta fuel pump would be upto the job of supplying the 2.0?depends which model its of though i suppose, if they differ through the range.

Thanks buddy.

Someone did this conversion on an RS2000 and it was A ok so I guess it will be ok, not at an issue at 6000rpm, I guess it would run out of steam?

I think it was off a Zetec - S 1.6, I know that the Zetec S 1.6 (wkipedia) was 101bhp or there abouts, being that no one has had issues with 1.6 escort pumps (which were fitted to 90hp cars) I think I should be ok.

Having said that, im not sure about the capabilities of the different pumps and even if they are indeed different, i'd be interested if anyone does know.

JC has been ragging his 5dr around on a 1.6 pump for a fair while, seems to cope.

Edit: Thanks for mentioning Bongo cause I asked the seller and he kindly told me it was a 2001 1.6 Zetec-S, that pump if it was would have been designed to handle the 101 bhp that car produced so considering the finesse boys 2.0 conversions are sound with the 90hp 1.6 pump I feel at peace with that concern now. I wonder if the classic 1.25 has the same pump.

i think youl be alright with most fuel pumps to be honest, if i really give the bike hell i can get it to less than 10 miles to a gallon and the fuel pump in that is tiiiiiny!
