stevmo3691
It is unfortunate that gearbox is playing up but upside is I will know that I wont have to worry about it meaning I can rely on the car more and leave money to be spent on this as the upgrades I want and more spending on the ST. Courtesy car is so crap its just sat outside my house and I keep using dads galant as the merc has a HG issue (mayonnaise in filler cap/neck)

I think hes trying to say that with a complete gearbox rebuild he has the peice of mind that its not going to hop along and cost more money in the future, thus allowing him to focus on his project car the ST. stevmo3691
After being seperated with £1740 (incl. VAT) I now have my bmw back and its still in dire need of a wash. Plus once garage manager is back in on Monday he will be having a heap of complaints from me about what they have done to my car. wiring for LED sidelight bulbs broken so both need new wiringbracket for tow bar sockets bent round into the back bumperwhen I gave them the car I had 1/4 tank on gauge and 119 miles on range, pick it up with 1/8th and 59 milesgrease stains on drivers seat (lucky I have proper stuff for that)general poor service (was told on wed it would be ready first thing in the morning - didnt get it back till Friday evening)hire car wasnt fit for purpose as central locking fault meant I couldnt use it for dominos delivery as I told them I did so had to use dads car (lucky I could)

sidrick
1 - You get a new autobox fitted and begrudge them for using 50 miles of petrol to test it out? 2 - You just paid for a £1740 repair on a £2000 car? Odd. 3 - I think I need a Dominos job as well.

stevmo3691
was an independent auto gearbox specialist. check your math - 60 miles of diesel which is quite alot. given that the trip was only showing 1.2 miles although I cant prove what the odometer was on but I am certain it has gone up. If you must know my dad has paid for the gearbox and I am paying him back.
