the rollercoaster ride starts again

you say "0" torque but the little fecker loves spinning the front wheels if your to heavy with the throttle when pulling off :pancake: ..... I used to pull off in 2nd to avoid it

Thinking about it... I do remember burning out a little before setting off for new tyres on the front... :pancake:

Neeeeeed a new car to play with...

Escort has gone... Cracking big go-kart...

106 has gone... Ran on thin air, veggie oil, aviation fuel... petrol(It ran sweet as a nut on 1/4 Petrol and 3/4 tank diesel - Mrs forgot she wasn't driving her Punto, filled the car part with petrol... panicked and filled the rest of the tank with diesel to dilute.) as well as Diesel when you could be arsed spending £1.10 a litre!

Now I'm stuck with the Mrs Punto... about 40bhp left in the dying 70bhp 1.2 8v Fiat engine (Mainly because the head gasket is pissing out a lovely smelling oil/petrol mix and the oil in the sump smells stronger of petrol than a frickin can of 98Octane!!)... Bloody front wheel is battered and buckled... washer bottle holds one squirt of liquid... car's exterior looks worse than a Polo Harlequin, mid-race in a banger event... and random Italian electrics fail if and when they feel like it.

Meant to be "onwards and upwards" when I sold the poor git to you... Since I've gone down hill... Might turn to crack next! :pancake:

Well despite the random as feck rain today I managed to get some cleaning and spraying done, quite pleased with the results even if I do say so myself..... which obviously I do

painted...

silver (hammered finish) - manifold heat sheild, timing belt cover, intake manifold, crossover pipe.

Black (flat finish) - Throttle body, exhaust manifold, various brackets.

Think Ill try something different with the head this time, flat black fiinish with etching through to silver metal then clear coated.

Much nicer looking now :thumb:

aye it couldnt have made it look any worse :thumb: .

most of its quick easy stuff, bit of cleaning, masking and careful spraying.

the head cover will take a bit more time and attention to detail but I dont mind that as its a bit of a centre peice and afaik its the exact same head cover on the Rst lump so Ill be able to use it there when I finally get a second motor to use it as a workhorse and turbo lump the scort :pancake:

you selling the crane after use ?

not selling no but will be up for loaning it out to recoup some of the cash I had to blow to get it, have to keep hold of it for when I sort a rs lump.

oooook......

spent most the day getting drastic with those exhaust studs, which were so rusted and fecked I ended up having to angle grind off the heads as nothing had a chance of shifting them, tried everythin from multiple coats of wd40, hammering a socket on, and finally dug out my Irwin nut & rod removal sockets, when they ultimately failed the trusty angle grinder did the busines.

Unfortunetly during the drilling out of the rods I managed to slip slightly and the drill skipped off and the nice new razor sharp shiney drill bit decided to carve a chunk out of my hand.....big blood splatter up my silver paint, I was so not pleased tsk.

Why matt black, I say be different and do a different matt colour!

I love my blacks and was a huge fan of black matt finish years before it became Dub popular or was even really seen on a whole car.
