ScORTED
not exactly, your car looks nothing like mine, however I would like to see what sort of finish you can achieve, as if its pretty good I'd have a bash at doing mine myself, fancied a matt white or lime green
JC
Truth be told most of the time the prospect of running about sorting a unit to spray in (as something this large I wont be able to do it outside with unpredictable weather) for something Im not 100% set on yet just seems to much trouble, however when summer begins to set and I start getting long solid warm spells It'll probably prompt me to dig out the marque tent and use it as a makeshift booth Make sure you don't paint the house this time?! What's the plan with the body kit? surely it needs to be bolted / stuck on before it's painted?

(this military stuff is designed to be more hard wearing which is one of the reasons I opted for it, unfortunately it doesnt conform to the usual mix levels of normal paint) Truth be told most of the time the prospect of running about sorting a unit to spray in (as something this large I wont be able to do it outside with unpredictable weather) for something Im not 100% set on yet just seems to much trouble, however when summer begins to set and I start getting long solid warm spells It'll probably prompt me to dig out the marque tent and use it as a makeshift booth Make sure you don't paint the house this time?! What's the plan with the body kit? surely it needs to be bolted / stuck on before it's painted? The house is still paint free.....but just incase, this acrylic based paint scrapes off brick quite well. why would I not take the opportunity to spray an item before fitting it?, isn't it common sense to do it before fitting if you have the option. its a much more simplified job to do it away from the car, no masking, improved access, improved angle of dispersal etc etc the only drawback is possible damage during installation, which can be avoided if care is taken obviously. shawdreamer
well its been a difficult choice but with my continuing health problems and the prospect of them getting worse before getting better Ive had to make a difficult decision...... though it pains me (genuinely surprisingly) Ive decided that's its time to call time on my escort. Shes been sorned for about a year now and though I planned to resuscitate her again come nicer weather it would seem I wont be any position health wise to devote to much time to her so as I cant see me getting a whole lot back by selling her as a whole concern so she's gonna be getting broken up. Really really REALLY don't like doing it but just don't have the time and effort to put into her and its the only logical choice I can see. Figure Ill keep her "snazzy" bits for when I'm in better shape and maybe give her a bit of a rebirth on another motor. Ill surely give a yell when I do. shawdreamer
Does this mean evo will get a reprieve from the SD sarcasm? like feck it will! anyway stop trying to enjoy my abject misery ya tw4t Went round my sisters to pick her up just a while ago, was already feeling sick as a dog and wobbly on my feet so I was expecting her to be in a reluctant state with all her tyres flat and god knows what else. Get there. Sisters washed her cos she heard I was gonna get rid and she didn't want all my previous hard work to go to waste, felt a tug of regret again looking at the nice clean paintwork but still maintained my resolve. popped the bonnet and had my sister bloke get in close enough with his r32 to give me a jumpstart with leads. got in and just out of curiosity turned the ignition key before the cables went on... she immediately starts and happily sits there giving her usual soft burble from the exhaust like she'd only been driven the day before and not sat for near on a year... again the pang of regret, this time sharper... I figure there's no way the handbrake hasn't seized after so long so I drop the lever, stick her in reverse and the biatch pulls backwards without so much as a complaint (granted the brakes sounded a bit grindy from the rust though), even under load her engine sounds as smooth as ever and the delicious note from the exhaust brought a familiar and happy smile to my face. I was sooooooo set on giving her her final rights today and she go's and Pees all over my resolve, Id hate her if I didn't love her..... sod it Ill do both. Custom three gauge plasma dashRS custom blue back lit speedo/rev/fuel dialsMy good old faithful Alpine stereo & all the gubbins with itrear Infinity 6/9'sTrickle charging solar powered setup (which I know is still good cos that's obviously what kept the cars battery alive for a year) few more bits and pieces to sort but right now Ive had to cover her in a car cover as I cant bare to see the state of her now... strangely though as soon as I pulled the cover over her I had the creepy sense it was more like a feckin body bag, daft getting attached to a motor/inanimate object but we all do it once in a while. smithyandco
What's the latest on this? Cue vulture like tendencies: If it stays in bits any longer I might have to send some lads round with a recovery truck while your not watching! - Seriously though, if you still have it in a few months I'll be looking at a project... would be odd for it to be my first proper on-road car though
