The dashs will keep reacting, the only way to get over it, is to rub it down and get rid of all the crap , or use a plain black dash, or a wood effect one.

i started with a finnesse one and have sanded it right down back to black plastic. just gonna have too keep trying

got a wood effect one in my car but would be selling that on as some people like that as an upgrade

again my plan for today changed

I have sorted outmy number plates as they weren'tlooking too fresh, got a new set of locking nuts to hold my ST24 wheels on, just gotta re-spray them first. also ordered newcentre caps for them from ford.

just going to replace the 3 pin connector from the bootlid as my middle pin is stuck and wont free up (tried wet n dry, wd40, grease etc)

also going to sort out my lowering coils as there are 2 problems. 1) they have few spots of surface rust and 2) they are yellow. gonna spray them hammerite smooth blue once got the rust off. also going to paint the strut brace and fit that lot tomorrow as my o/side front shock is absolutely knackered

 

edit: forgot to mention, do actually have new shocks too

in the process of fitting and thats for the future when insurance has gone down and made the sure the rest of the car wont rot away

Also most finish priming my dash, few little places it keeps bubbling but most of it has been sorted Also i'm not 100% sure but i think you can't swap the passenger lock barrel to the drivers side.

lets have it rite your ghia is worth 700 maybe?(yes i know it is the most powerful escort standard as you made that point)

u have fitted rear lights,smoked side repeaters,angeleyes,lagunna sunglass holder.

 

so that comes to £880.00?so where are u getting 3k from?

 

if anything i would delete ya thread and start fresh because u say u have all these items yet u ant fit them and plus for 3k i would be expecting a 2litre and maybe some cossie rims not gti 15inch ones.

 

p.s im sure lordjc (john) didnt mean to send without springs etc,if you look at his feedback it speak volumes

i've explained where money has come from before, we had this several pages back, i also said i will do a new post when i have finished the car, this one is just for fun and i know john didnt mean too, i was having a laugh with it, hence the cough things.

yes i paid £700 for the car, since then i have changed interior twice, got the gti wheels, got mondy 5 spokes, then got ST24's, had tinted lights, got RS2K brakes all round to go on, transit front fogs when they send me the pair and so on. car is very different. please note when i got the car i drove it for 1 week before being banned from driving on medical grounds, then when i could drive again it failed the MOT on brake pipe, brake hose, snapped suspension coil and rusted chasis leg and loads of advisory's. i put it right and since all that work it got 2 advisory's. split CV gaitor (changed) and worn bush on o/side wishbone, so have a pair too change.

 

bear in mind all the little bits from the breakers adds up as does people not sending stuff you buy and changing mind on things.

also i do like cossie wheels but they are over used. i'll only have them if i get a Escos.

 

i challenge most people (there are exceptions i know) too add up all the bits they've bought for their escorts including the car and fixing it and then say it aint over £3K+

includes paint, trim clips, upgrade bulbs etc as you wouldnt have bought them if you didnt have that car

and imo, i have more to show for it than yours give or take a couple of quid for a bulb here and there, and a LOT of free parts, but its still nowhere near 3k

im finding it hard to understand what your trying to say here,either you dont really want a escort and kicking up a fuss so much that u want everybody to know how much u have spent or you think by saying u have spent 3k u will get nice comments?

 

Either way Fairplay for being different and i believe doing ya own thing is a postive but the way your going on people may expect to see something amazing when they see ya escort at shows and that mite not be the case.

 

u have started a thread as a step by step to getting your escort the way u want it so maybe you should do that?
