18 years old - 0 NCB - 1.4 Ford Escort Encore = £1,700

19 years old - 1 NCB - Same car - 3 points (TS10) = £1,200

if it is I still frown upon the offence, its no where close to as annoying and dangerous as the mobile phone use someone else admitted to.....that seriously p*sses me off :vangry:

one thing i hate at the mo is the rise in the excess's,,

i laughed at one company who gave me a cheap ish quote as they wanted a £350 excess,, which was more than the policy,,

its money for old rope as you legally have to have it, and if you make a claim you get screwed over nextime

just got my 1 years no claims bonus basically dropped it by £20 a month, i was hoping for more as my dad told me for your first you get 30%, 2nd year and every year then on its 10% untill you reach like 70% in total. im guessin this is now not the case. anyway im now paying:

car: escort 1.6 16v cl 5dr

age: 23 with 1 year's (as from the 18th april) NCB also fully comp, breakdown etc.

Monthly/P: £140.60p now untill 18th april £120.50,

so i have till then to decide to stay with direct line or move, not sure if i should haggle somewhere else or not

You'd rather pay a price you've been quoted than spend 15-20 minutes to try and save a few hundred quid? My idiotic younger brother tried this - rang the renewal company and they 'offered' £1600....i told him to have a look about........first one came back with £1200.

YOU ALWAYS LOOK AROUND FOR BETTER DEALS - EVERY YEAR

Yea the 19 year old bit is still me, i'm 19 on 5th April but new policy doesn't start until 11th April. And I know what I done is dangerous... probably even more dangerous tht I didn't even know I ran the red light, but rubbish happens unfortauntely and nobody was hurt.

Age 19 - 1.8 Si with both Parents as named drivers, TPFT + windscreen cover - £800

jesus thats cheap mate. What insurance company is that?

AGE: 19

CAR: 1.4 Escort cvh

PRICE: £1350 per annum

Im with Quinn direct, I took out a policy on a 1.4 lx to learn to drive in and changed to my si after the first year when I got my renewal quote through. Thankfully, after the change in cars my premium only went up by £50 and I added windscreen cover for £20 because of my heated screen :thumb:
