Stu
A rear bar won't really help with traction.. it'll reduce understeer though!
danny42
I can testify for that, made a huge difference on mine, it felt so much more composed on turn-in. I doubt you'll be taking it off again In fact, i've seen fiestas running two at the same time, so they must be doing something
bongo
your gonna be out about 35-40mm on the rear.
SLEEMAN
A rear bar won't really help with traction.. it'll reduce understeer though! that's good news thank you stu!! I think that should compensate for not having a rear spoiler I can testify for that, made a huge difference on mine, it felt so much more composed on turn-in. I doubt you'll be taking it off again In fact, i've seen fiestas running two at the same time, so they must be doing something yeah. I was a bit unsure that they may not fit but they fit the st170 rear hubs so they will fit the escort your gonna be out about 35-40mm on the rear. maybe so but i'll have the rear arches to compensate! bronze4door
my mate who slates the handling of mk6 escorts drove my car after i fitted the rear beam with anti roll bar and he said if you didn't look at the dash and the bits around you you would think you were in a much better car and he was surpirsed at its handling

SLEEMAN
yeah the st rear brakes are 280mm, but will be changing the discs and pads, carbotech pads will be the ones and probably look to change the discs to tarox ones and yeah the arb as stu said will benefit so once I find a way to fit it then I will get that sorted and remove the brackets and get the arb shotblasted and powdercoated as it looks a bit of a state lol

SLEEMAN
long time since I've updated this but since then I have become a father!!!!!!! me and my girlfriend had a baby girl only last week on Wednesday so I had been preparing for her arrival as well as busy with work. so when the misses gave me some time off during my paternity leave I got cracking on with the beast! so bought a generator and a heat gun and got removing the heavy sound deadening. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/My%20Car/null_zps0ba9b2e5.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/My%20Car/null_zpsde157fac.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/My%20Car/null_zps36e72399.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/My%20Car/null_zpsc86637dd.jpg as the eagle eye viewers can see there is heavy rotting around the sill and floor plan areas, these will get sorted when I take the car to a local restorers/specialists when I get the sills replaced at the same time as well as the passenger rear chassis leg. and the company I got my eye on said they can do tig welding so I can see if they can weld in the roll cage at the same time. after that I can crack on with other things like the main bodywork including remove the roof and a few other things! next i'll be buying a drill and drilling some spot welds!
