SLEEMAN
Well no not at all but I keep turning the crank everytime I go to the garages just to make sure bottom end hasn't seized it hasn't as of yet no water/coolant in there either so nothing for this lovely British weather to freeze up just yet and engine is filled with oil so I'm hoping all is well I have a spare 1.8 in the back just incase! SLEEMAN
It's all quiet at the mo but the manual steering rack is in place and connected up to column. Just gotta wait on ford to see if they can find the correct bolts but looking a bit bleek! Then it's really a case of putting the engine back on the mounts and find a longer alternator belt as I think the one I have is too short

It's worth trawling the parts listing, especially for the 'not properly listed' items.
SLEEMAN
well finally mission accomplished the manual steering rack is on, everything is all back on and bolted up nice and tight with the correct bolts, so now its back on all fours! thank god! i don't wanna be doing that conversion again unless i do it when the engine is completely out and subframe is down! but whats also good news i managed to get my hands on a sparco roll cage! it looks good on the outset and managed to get the main hoop with the rear strut and braces in well sort of i have to remove the sunroof completely so it fits in place! so theres another thing i have to do is blank off the sunroof till i can afford a carbon/fibreglass roof skin! so yeah another thing to add to the list also another good bit of news is i found a nice cheap microsquirt ecu i'm gonna use so thats a good proper jenvey throttle body setup for less than a grand! so heres some lovely pictures; http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/image-9.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/image-8.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/image-7.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/image-6.jpg http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/image-5.jpg nothing much but something! lol
Rockerrob666
Looking good dude. Removing the sunroof will save you some weight as well. Would it be worth welding something in it's place?? wondering whether thats gonna effect the stiffness, having a gaping hole in the roof??
bongo
just get a carbon sheet, thats and inch bigger than the hole, tigerseal and some pop rivets ,hardcore!
SLEEMAN
the carbon sheet idea doesn't really appeal to me, because it looks sort of tacky lol so i'll probably will look to welding a sheet in then probably use carbon di noc for that black and red look. also thinking of ideas of roof scoop as i will be removing the heater box extra weight gone! just have to remove the dashboard first and get all the rubbish wiring like radio etc out of there! but also thinking of a bonnet scoop/vent for the throttle bodies not thinking of scooby vent but something like a sunken vent almost similar to the toyota celica style. opinions anybody? SLEEMAN
Yeah I'll probably think about doing that, but I've already had the bonnet spacers once and everybody telling me my bonnets up lol! Ah well maybe I will think about it
Hezz
You not fancy a f2 style roof vent?
SLEEMAN
I'm liking the sound of that but also depends on how much they cost lol! But I have seen them and will think about it but first priority would be to sort the sunroof!

SLEEMAN
small update today: http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/photo1.jpg removed the dashboard and the heater matrix! and as you can try to see most of the wiring there is the viper alarm system i had installed!!! but this being a track car that alarm is dead weight! so if anyone wants to buy it off me it will be for sale once i get it removed properly and labeled also comes with remote engine starting! so offers anyone??? http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/photo2.jpg heres the main hoop of the roll cage in but have to modify the bottom brackets so i can weld it in the floor! but also maybe even remove the brackets that go to the rear struts so i can weld that in too! http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/photo3.jpg heres the modified sunroof! you may see a few dents/deformed areas but that will be solved with some panel beating and welding a plate in http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/sleeman20/photo4.jpg and heres the removed dashboard, i was thinking about modifying it so just half a dashboard is required! so nothing more just yet requiring funding at the moment for more bits! hopefully next purchases will be arch extensions, wrc mirrors and maybe a racing seat! just one! don't need two! lol
