Good luck with the MOT, are you prepared for it pretty much?

Difficult to tell, tbh. Every part on the car either has been replaced, or needs replaced, haha. It all depends on how the MOT tester's opinion differs from mine, as sadly it's only his that matters! I am overly critical of my own cars, so hopefully it won't fail too badly.

Anyhoo! Today I went out with the intention of:

- Finally fitting the n/s front strut assembly

- Finally fitting the o/s rear shock and spring

- Fit the two washer jets

- Fit the front disc backing plates

I did most of the above.

Firstly I fitted the passenger side front strut assembly. No pictures of that as it's the same as the other side and everything went surprisingly smoothly when fitting.

I was about to strip the brakes and fit the disc back plate but the discs and pads are corroded to fcuk and only have enough meat on them for a couple of thousand miles so I couldn't be arsed stripping them, then refitting them, just to have to do the same in 2 months time.

The car went back on all 4 wheels for the first time in a couple of weeks and I tried to start and move it so that I had more room round the other side. Disaster, the n/s rear brake was stuck on and no amount of rocking between 1st and reverse was freeing it :(

I battled on and jacked up the o/s rear to fit the new shock, top mount and spring. Again.... no disasters, fitted smoothly. Although I did think the spring I removed was different to the one I took off the other side, so compared them:

Lol, that's what was fitted to the car :|

Again, no pics of the fitted items as they're identical to the other side which I've already taken pictures of.

I then refitted the rear valance which I had removed when taking off the towbar of doom.

I then fitted the new boot light switch, which works fine and will stop my battery draining! Win!

I went round to the n/s rear to strip the brakes since they were sticking on. On inspection it was the handbrake sticking at that side, and fortunately the ol' hammer treatment worked, saving me the task of removal/refitting.

I decided I'd put the new wheels at the back, as unlike the front, the back should now be complete and the wheels wont need to come off.

I fitted and adjusted the washer jets, so they now hit the screen, lol.

I'm not a bender so don't buy into all this detailing malarky. I gave the car a quick run-round with a bucket and sponge. Nothing exciting, but here's a closing shot of the soon to be replaced roundel:

What are you going to do about the wheels protruding from the arches? Roll them out?

The wheels don't protrude from the top of the arches :)

Awesome. Look like they have quite a bit of poke in the photos. Stance looks good though, look forward to seeing some photos of it on all 4 rims!

Wheels look good, but im not sure i like how far they stick out...what will happen if the back end hits a bump? Wont the tyre go up and smack the arch lip?

Love the new badges

I guess I've just got to play the waiting game. I don't think the car will go bouncing about over bumps, but we'll see.

I'd like the arches rolled, but if they get rolled, they need replaced first. That's getting expensive on an already mega-expensive (for what it is) car.

Love the wheels! Smart as buggery! :D

Haha, cheers man :D
