Ahmotorsport
Jesus, that's a monster! Look at that mount, could securely hold an engine i think!
sidrick
No quite, but pretty sturdy. it's part of the lower heatshield. To complete the upgrade to RS2 spec I'd need the top of the RS2 airbox, but that's about £70 that I don't have at the moment. Bought a dump valve and a piece of silicone hose today Spending is done for the month! (well, just about )

sidrick
Big day for the ol' shed. It's runs like a bag of pish and my mechanic friend said that the cam sensor fault and the poor running might indicate the timing being out, hence we'll strip it and time it and take it from there. This would be it's home for the day, beside my friends 635csi, lush!http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13543.jpg Strip some rubbish off:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/WP_000007.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13544.jpg When I bought it the seller said it had a new water pump just 6 month earlier..... haha:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13545.jpg Naked:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13546.jpg Quickly back together. Seen with the special tool 2084 kindly loaned by Spink on the s2forum:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13547.jpg The old crank bolt. Someone had taken chunks out of it to get it off, only to use it again. Some people.....http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13548.jpg The Beast (as it was christened) used to get 450nm on the crank bolt! I stood well back!http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13549.jpg This might explain the N75 fault code and the lack of power :\ Completely unplugged.http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13551.jpg Managed to ditch some air-con shite. Anyone needing anything?http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/WP_000008.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/WP_000009.jpg On the home straight. You'll see from the amount of photos I've taken that my friend did ALL the work Legend.http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13552.jpg The alternator I fitted last month. Removed and refitted with the correct cables to terminal (facepalm). Battery light no longer always-on:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13550.jpg All back together (I screwed on the fog lights myself) and finished off with an oil and brake fluid change:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13553.jpg Totally different car. It's got the 5-cylinder roar that was missing before and the power is superb now. We're not convinced the ignition timing is spot on as there's an occasional misfire, but it's 10 times better than it was.
