Waiting for a 17" ratchet spanner to arrive before fitting

You can live without ratcheted spanners ? How have you ever changed a Mk6 bumper without them ?

I need a standard set, stubby set and swivel head boxful before I open a bonnet. Laziness is horrible disease.

Haha, I know what you mean. My tool kit gets bigger with every job I do. I've been putting off the ratchet set as I generally only buy complete Teng sets, but don't really have the cash right now. Bought the individual ratchet and I'll decide after pay day.

I've changed many a Mk6 bumper, and they're pretty similar to this, but easier. Can you not get a 1/4" socket onto the bumper bolts? It's been so long......

I spy a shiny ratchet spanner!

Damn right. I went to work this week looking like the missus had battered me, so hopefully I'll avoid a few bruises with that thing.

Going to phone Audi tomorrow to see what we can sort out regarding my timing belt parts. Ideally I want more than 15% off since I'll be buying every nut and bolt.

I'll update soon with the timing belt process if anyone's interested.

Good updates with this, i cant believe the shite luck you have though :(

I saw something on my travels today, its been sat about for years and years!

It has no engine in it, and the engine seems to be in bits in the car.

Its made me kind of want one!

Decent weather here again so took the opportunity to get the new alternator in and plug the coolant hoses in to complete the aux rad delete.

I decided I'd do away with my usual tool kit:

For something more subtle for this job. I know, I know, Tuborg...

Anyway, what a difference that ratchet spanner made. My arms still look like I've gone 10 rounds with a tiger though, haha.

Plugged the top hose (main rad to aux rad) at its full length so I could test everything. I'll trim it shortly:

Looking good, except that horrible alarm!

That'll do me :)

Coolant Pump with O-ring

Allen head bolt & washer for coolant pump

Bolts & washers for coolant pump

PAS belt

4 wishbone bushes

2 anti-roll bar bushes

Bolts for PAS pulley

Nuts for cam belt cover

Thermostat, seal and bolts
