sidrick
Measured the rotor tip today and it's about 14-15mm, noticably wider than the one in place, so I cleaned up the existing one and kept it on. It's very common to fit the wrong rotor on these engines and experience spark jump. The car has been laid up for 3 weeks now as I try and source an early window regulator. I park in a multistory car park for work so I can't really use the car without a working drivers window  Today I changed the ICV. No differnce in the erratic idle but the code for the ICV has gone from the diagnostics:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13474.jpg Discovered some broken wiring to the coil :shttp://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13471.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13472.jpg The coil lead was really corroded which wouldn't have been helping matters, so the connection on the coil got a good clean out:http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13475.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13480.jpg And some nice Magnecor leads http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13481.jpg http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13482.jpg Fitted a new cap, the old one had definitely seen better days!http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/adolftitler/SDC13483.jpg Revs much more smoothly but it's still a sick puppy and has started a ticking behind/under the dash, like an indicator sound, which I assume is a relay :| Could be stationary for a while longer

Stu
Ha ha.. http://www.prlog.org/10156907-the-monopoly-bribe.jpg On a more serious note, what brand are the springs? I can't see, the paint/label has worn off! I might have a rebuild kit for that waste-gate somewhere. You should probably crack the top off and check the diaphragm. I bought one for an old project many moons ago so will check if I still have it. Pretty rare AFAIK. Might have got it from 034 though.

Ahmotorsport
Liking the updates. FINALLY! Someone that can fit a set of plug leads and not have them hanging all over the engine bay! The smallest things make the bay look so much better.
Ahmotorsport
On another note, those springs are pissy things! Like the 'zorst too!

With the shipping it's almost as expensive as the new one I bought :| However, unlike the ones in the UK, it's from a dryer climate and more importantly, a LHD car Collecting the necessary parts to delete the aux radiator as well On another note, those springs are pissy things! Like the 'zorst too! Cheers. What does pissy things mean? Edited August 8, 2012 by sidrick
