shawdreamer
The cage is done now and ready for collection, the final damage was £2305.75, which was a good £500 less than I expected, so pretty chuffed even the general thought of spending that much on a cage makes me feel slightly sick but going by previous posts your obviously paying for the qaulity your getting
Mike C
You wouldn't want to skimp on a cage. A good cage does so much, stiffens the shell up SO much and obviously from a safety aspect, it's fully FIA certified and could save lives. Obviously I never want to have to test that part out, but running the sort of power it'll be running, you shouldn't cut corners really
olly_mk6
Sounds like this will be one hell of an escort! are you actually going to want to risk taking it on a track with all the money you've spent on it?

Yeah, I'll take it on track, but am going to be very reluctant to do anything competitive in it for the reasons you mention...

Harvez
I would NEVER take that on track, competitive or not!! Only takes one bloke in a stripped out 2.0l Clio he paid £500 for to try and out brake or accidently cut in front and good buy £30,000 worth of motor ... Its not only your own driving you have to be worried about its others. A friend took his, at the time, brand new 06 plate STI on combe and somebody in a Integra plowed straight into the back of him (Driver out broke himself)
Richie_Si
£30,000? Let's hope it doesn't turn out like that heavily modified blue cabriolet...

Lee_2f2f
I wouldn't want to take Mikes car on a track.. but then again... whats the point in doing ALL this work on it, and turning it into an ultimate fat engined car with rollcage etc etc and not put it to its test? Would be pointless if he didnt.. unless its just for self satisfaction by just building it & then storing it? which again. whats the point then if he did that. That's the dilemma. But guess I won't be making any decisions until the car is finished and I'm faced with it! We'll see.
Stu
It is a bit odd to go to all this trouble and not use it... Who cares if it gets a bit of track rash! Edited June 28, 2009 by Stu
